...I can only write about what's around me and in Tuscaloosa the talk of the town is rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. It has been raining non-stop since about Thursday of last week and for the past 2 days we've had Flash Flood Warnings. Ridiculous. I love the rain, but this is a bit much!
Anyway this morning, I set out in search of my rain boots--which are a prized-possession of mine. They are simple black rain boots made by Ralph Lauren that my daddy bought me my 1st year at NC State. These are the boots I splash in rain puddles in.I knew with flash flood warnings all around town I could NOT go to school without them. I also realized I left my umbrella in the car. So I set outside into the monsoon of all monsoon to get my umbrella and boots [which I realized were in the trunk of my car]. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately for my neighbors, I had on some short-ass shorts and a white wife-beater. In a monsoon. Let's just say the neighbors got quite a "helllooooooo" this morning!
Anywho, I bring this all up to say that when I got back inside I was drenched with rain and FREEZING. It got me to thinking about all those "romantic" television/movies kisses and how after standing in the rain umbrella-less for like 5 minutes, I don't think rain kissing is so romantic.
I get that on-screen rain-kissing is supposed to be metaphoric--the rain representing a release of pent-up agression/sexual tension/unspoken feelings/etc. But I feel like in reality, while soaking wet the last thing I'd want to be doing is swapping spit. I dunno. Maybe its just me. All I know is after being in the rain today, I felt dirty and immediately hopped my ass into the shower. The rain definitely did not inspire me to wanna get frisky or finally confront my imaginary lover...But anyways, here's a look at some famous rain kissing scenes from the movies.
1. Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams in The Notebook: I dunno. Maybe if Ryan Gosling proclaimed, "It wasn't over. It still isn't over!" I'd wanna jump on him in the rain. But right now, looking at them, I'm thinking her PANTIES ARE WET and not from excitement. This reminds me of the end of the year party last year @ Bear Trap. We all got rained on and my panties got wet. Wet panties are disgusting, FYI.
2. Tobey McGuire & Kirsten Dunst in Spider-Man: I'm sorry. I think this kiss was so stupid. If it was me, while I was "innocently" pulling up his mask to kiss him, I would have pulled the mask OFF and revealed *GASP* that Spider-Man = Peter Parker. Plus, Tobey just looks uncomfortable in this picture. And I can guarantee her panties were wet--if she even wore any...
3. Audrey Hepburn & George Peppard in Breakfast at Tiffany's: I can't really say anything negative about this---its Breakfast at Tiffany's and its Hepburn...but I must admit, my first thought when looking at THIS photo is at least Audrey is wearing a trench--her panties probably aren't soak'd...
